I really love being a mom. Though at times I'm not sure if I am a mother or zookeeper, it really is the best job I’ve ever had. And as exhausted as I get, I love packing lunches every night, and folding little clothes (not so little on some any more), I love picking up LEGOS and Nerf darts from all over the house (no, seriously), and I love being begged to play games when all I want to do is crash on the couch.
I love it because one day I will miss it.
One day, my kids will be grown and begin a life of their own (that’s the idea anyway). And I won’t have lunches to pack any more, or little clothes to fold, or LEGOS or darts to pick up, no one will beg me to play games when I get home. I will miss those things. So I love them now.
